About Us

Since 1981, the Volunteer Lawyers Program has been uniting those in need with volunteer attorneys whose generous counsel gives thousands of Arizonans new hope for a better life. And the need is growing every year.

Co-sponsored by Community Legal Services and the Maricopa County Bar Association, VLP makes it possible for you to provide a few hours of service or advice regarding civil law matters. You can also represent a low income client from beginning to end. For those willing to assist with pro bono matters outside their usual area of practice, VLP provides training opportunities, mentors and consultants. You choose the area that suits your preferences and schedule!

What People Say

"I was really amazed how quickly everything was set up. I have tried for the past six years to obtain legal guardianship of my grandson. You have special people in your program and, yes, more attorneys should participate." ~ Client

"VLP can be a good resource for training or assistance if you'd like to try something outside the scope of your usual practice." ~ Jeffrey Simmons, Esq.

"I feel very sympathetic to those we cannot help, but helping those I can gives me a sense of purpose and value." ~ Felicity Mason, Esq.

Heroes are just people with big hearts.
